POETRY ALERT!

This just in from Kim Baker, who asked us to share with anyone who might be interested...

* * *

Greetings to All!

I am writing with a poetry call for submissions for a poetry and art show to take place in August 2013 at Wickford Art Association in Wickford, Rhode Island.  We are looking for your best poem!

This unique and exciting collaboration of poets and artists is also a fundraiser for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.  So your entry fee will help feed those who don't have enough to eat.

Also, Wickford Art Association may select your poem to be part of a book for sale of poems and art from the show.  Imagine your poem in a book of art and poetry!  And the exhibit and book will give all poets and artists wonderful exposure to new audiences.

Here's how the show will work.  Once we have selected 55 poems, invited artists will then select one poem and create an original work of art inspired by it.  Both poem and work of art will be exhibited in an exciting first-of-its-kind exhibit in August at Wickford Art Gallery.

All selected poets and artists will be invited to the attend the opening of the exhibit.

All these details, as well as payment and submission guidelines are below.  Please feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested in submitting.

We can't wait to read your work!

Carpe poetry and art!
Kim Baker

Who's Ready for Spring? Me! Me! Pick Me!

The sun is glistening on the ocean today, shimmering as if the surface were strewn with diamond crystals catching the light. The thermometer claims it's close to fifty degrees.... Spring is winding her way to Cape Cod, slowly but surely.

We just need to hang in there a few more weeks....

Three Yoga Poses to Jumpstart Spring!

In the Winter Issue of CWO, Diane Kovanda of Kind Yoga has outlined three easy yoga poses to jumpstart your mornings. Read the article by going to the Holistic Health section of the magazine.

After this past long, cold winter, I propose that these are a good way to ease our bodies into Spring! All my winter aches and pains need to go away before the warm weather - and all my gardening chores - kick into gear!

So who's with me?

Deadline for Spring Articles is TODAY

The deadline for all Spring 2013 articles is today - March 1 - because somehow it's already March!

Get your articles submitted to the Editor ASAP... or at least email with a good excuse why it's going to be late. And maybe a bribe (I do accept bribes on occasion. Chocolate works. So does coffee. Or wine.)

If it helps at all to know that you aren't alone, well, you aren't. There are still other articles we're waiting on.

But.

I need to include a shout out to our wonderful contributors who SUBMITTED THEIR WORK EARLY.

SEVENTEEN WRITERS have already turned in articles and poetry for the Spring Issue.

*yea*

So go on. Finish your article and hit send. I'm waiting.
