Blissful Office Views

On the Herring River, West Harwich

The Herring River reminds me of the riverbank in Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows. This is one of my all-time favorite childhood storybooks of three friends; badger, mole and mouse, who were always getting into some kind of trouble...especially when they went to visit Toad of Toad Hall! If you haven't treated yourself to these cute tales I'd recommend you set some time aside to delve into their watery world...they're not just for the kids...they are hilarious and heartwarming stories that take you out of the drudgery of daily life.

Living so close to the river has its gifts and its challenges...low tide can smell like rotten eggs and a hurricane will howl and spin up the river like a screaming banshee...but on days like today, it is a reminder to slow down and take in the view.

With so many incredibly beautiful views on Cape Cod it would be hard NOT to find a place to pull the car over and breathe in the serenity of this lovely place. (You have to get off Route 6 first!)

The radar shows a storm is rolling in tonight - if you can spare a few minutes for yourself why not look out of your window and enjoy the view.

Where's your favorite view? We'd love to see your photo's - upload them to our facebook page and share them with us!

And the fog rolls in...

Today was a good day to catch up on errands, or chores, or to curl up with that new book you bought for the beach but just can't wait to start... or work on your next submission for the Fall issue of CapeWomenOnline magazine...

After the extreme heat and sunshine, it was nice to have a cloudy day. Makes us appreciate the nice weather all the more.
